Att leva eller dö, det är frågan – en studie om innehållet på webbforumet Flashback med fokus på diskussionen kring självmord

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to analyze the content of the web forum Flashback with the focal point on the subject suicide. Using a virtual ethnographic approach to answer the questions how suicide was discussed on the web forum Flashback, and is it possible to distinguish which need/needs the website Flashback could meet for the users who discuss the subject suicide. Choosing the three most used threads on Flashback containing the word suicide to analyze to delimit the selection. The conclusion of this study was that the content of Flashback contained among others the users’ thoughts about which method they would use to commit the suicide and the reason behind their decision. The Flashback users could even propose to one another which methods was the best, it was even distinguished that some members used the thread to send comments that would provoke the other members to take suicide, other members used Flashback to stop other users suicide thoughts.
