"Vi ska bygga en stad!" : En studie om barns tankar och erfarenheter av tekniska system och infrastruktur.

Sammanfattning: The purpose of the study is to find out children’s experiences of and thoughts on various technical systems that are part of our community’s infrastructure. To collect data, two planned activities were carried out where the children together designed a city. The conversations that took place during the activities was recorded by audio recording, which was then processed through a phenomenographic analysis model. The study is based on the socio-cultural perspective as a theoretical approach. The result shows that the children have varying experiences and knowledge of several different technical systems that are important for a community’s infrastructure. The children express vivid descriptions of what they experience is important that there is in a city. The result also shows that the children support each other and work together to create as good city as possible. The interviewer´s role was essential to help the children think one step further and understand how the technical systems are interconnected.
