Sammanfattning: Due to the Social Services Act (SFS 2001:453, Chapter 14, Section 1), every preschool employee is required to report to child protective services (CPS). Any awareness or slightest suspicion that children are exposed to physical or psychological harm must be reported. The aim of this study is to examine the conditions for collaboration between preschool and CPS. The study focuses on children that are mistreated, and the preschool's employee’s competence. The purpose is to develop knowledge of how preschool teachers professionally can be more confident in their collaborations with CPS.  A quantitative method was used, with two online surveys. These surveys were sent to preschool teachers and social workers in two municipalities. We used Danermarks (2000) collaboration theory to analyse the two organisations' cooperative work in the aim to help children.  The result of the study shows a division between the preschool teachers and social workers about the collaboration. The preschool teacher wants feedback after notifying CPS about suspicious child abuse to ensure a correct acting. On the other hand, the social workers means that preschool teachers need to have better knowledge about the process that continues after a report of concern has been handed in.
