Morgondagens studentbostäder; En rapport med gestaltningsförslag i svensk passivhusstandard gällande bostadsbristen för studenter

Sammanfattning: Sweden today is suffering from a housing shortage. Not least among young adults, students in particular. One reason to why the supply of housing is insufficient and unable to meet the demands most likely has to do with the slow construction rate that occured between the years of 2008 and 2012. The slow construction rate combined with an increased demand in proportion to the growing population has become a problem for the society. The lack of housing has made it difficult for students to enter the housing market. The idea of the report is to present proposals for the future of student housing, where the produced design proposals should meet the requirements for the swedish standard of passive house. To figure out the demands of the students, the authors studied a report made by Studentbostadsföretagen in cooperation with White Arkitekter and Stockholms Studentbostäder. The report is based on survey where 2035 students took a stand on how they might want to live in the future. The result of the survey shows that almost a third of the participants are asking for bigger apartments where two or more persons share the residence and it’s central features. As this form of collective housing shines with its absence in today’s market, it was natural to contribute with proposals for this type of housing. During the process, articles, reports and literature have been carefully studied. Literature studies, together with inspiration from previous projects, have laid the foundation for the report’s sketch process. This process resulted in three different floor plans adapted after two, three, and four students. The floor plans were then put into a residential complex with the result of three different apartment blocks. Using the energy calculation program Isover Energi, the apartment block’s annual energy consumption and their heat loss figures were calculated. The work has been done with the help of an architect with many years of experience in the business as well as the mentor with background and competence in building physic. The report results in three apartment blocks with an average heat loss figure of 9,7 W/m2Atemp and consumes approximately 32 kWh/m2Atemp each year. This means that the listed goals will be accomplished with good margins with the conclusion that the apartment blocks meet the requirements for a ”Projected Passive House according to FEBY12”.
