Sammanfattning: Research shows that people tend to save textiles that hold special meaning and sentimental value. This study aims to find out how it feels to reuse those affective textiles. To examine this, I shared a questionnaire in different groups on Facebook. I asked how it feels during the work with the fabrics, how it feels afterwards and if the personal value changes after the remake. The informants had a lot to share and the most common answer where that reusing makes them feel closer to the loved one who once owned the textile, that working with it brings back memories and that they sense the tide of history. Most of the informants feel joy, pride and honour but some also have mixed emotions like happiness and sorrow at the same time. The personal value of the finished product can be different, some feel additional value, for some the value is the same as before and for others the value lies in the emotions that arises during the process of remaking. It is apparent that reusing affective textiles is an appreciated, meaningful and important process to many. Reuse of affective textiles can be a great way to strengthening and foster the relation to the things we already have instead of buying new ones. Reducing our climate impact is something that motivates several of the informants to reuse their emotional textiles.
