Ett rum för skapande - en studie av högstadieelevers musikskapande i skolan

Sammanfattning: Title: The creative room - highschool students creating music at school. I have studied a class in ninth grade that had as a task in school to compose their own music. Beside observing the entire class I have followed four students during their music creation process. In order to respond to my research question about how young people do when they create music in school, I have used a qualitative method and worked with observations and interviews. In the theory section, I focus on reasearch on creativity and how creativity is influenced by the social environment. In the result, we follow the class and those four students I interviewed on their musical journey and in the discussion I have compared the students' thoughts with earlier theories. There is no unanimous reply to what students do when they create music since they have their own personal ways to solve the task, but all students go through a creative process and in this essay we have the possibility to look closer on their individual processes and to compare resemblances and differences.
