(Translated title) Supervisor: Marie Eriksson Assessor: Kerstin Arnesson   The purpose of this study was through tree qualitative lifehistoryinterviews examine womens violence against men in an intimate relationship. The interviews were analyzed with help of previous research and theoretical points, hegemonic masculinity and the process of violence. The result shows that the men were victims of physical, psychological, sexual and economic violence. The men have been met with resistance by the environment because social norms affect the perception of a man as victim. The study also include what the society perceives as male or female and how gender constructions makes it self in a violent relationship. Mens lifestories were analyzed according to tree themes; the time in the relationship of violence, the breakup and after the breakup. There is limited research on womens violence against men and there for we have decided to make various elements of mens violence against women in the study. In the final cloucher we could find that women who are victims of violence in an intimate relationship undergoes similar experience and feelings as men who are victims of violence of intimate relationships.
