Sammanfattning: The psychosocial work environment has previously been less discussed in comparison with the physical work environment, not least in the construction industry. Previous research shows that mental ill health is something that is constantly increasing in the construction industry and that in recent years, efforts have been made to invest more in the psychosocial work environment. Previous research also shows that the work organization has a great impact on the health of individuals and that is where we have linked two different connections.   Construction companies belong to and industry where development is constantly taking place and the requirement to be competitive is clearly inevitable. This in combination with the right demands, time pressure and various project organization environments leaves an impression on the psychosocial well-being of the employees. Because of the project organization’s requirement to constantly adapt to dynamic and changing environments, it is therefore particularly important to be clear with the structure of the organization in order to benefit both the work but also the health of the employees. Based on these aspects, a research gap has been identified, which has resulted in a research question that is to examine the significance of the project organization's structure for the psychosocial work environment. The purpose of this study is to describe the perceived psychosocial work environment in project organizations and by this explain the organizational structure importance for the perceived psychosocial work environment. The study has been done according to a qualitative research method in the form of deep interviews from four different construction companies. In total, interviews were conducted with nine respondents, taking into account variation in occupational roles, gender, experience and age. The results of the study showed that the structure of the project organization has an impact on the psychosocial work environment where communication, influence, work community, well-made planning and structured work are strongly associated with the wellbeing and health of the workers.
