Sammanfattning: The increased integration of photovoltaic (PV) systems and the needfor charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) in distributiongrids have aggravated the visibility and awareness of electric powerproduction and consumption. Such unawareness can lead to inefficientinvestments in the electric grid. Hence, this master thesis aimed toprovide a simulation model to increase the understanding of upcomingload patterns when planning for grid investments. This mainlyincluded peak power simulations. With the use of consumer data, the simulation model was designed todemonstrate the net power flows in secondary substations (medium tolow voltage) under the influence of PV and EV integration. Thesimulation model allows for user-defined scenarios for variousconstellations of installed PV systems and EV charging stations. Theresults when demonstrating the simulation model for scenarios withvarious amounts of installed PV systems and EV charging stationsprovided truthful values. Additionally, the model was compared with Velanders formula, whereit was found that penetration of PV will generate misleadinginformation when using the latter. The model showed many and usefulapplications. Though, it is required that the model is furtherevaluated for practical applications with intended users.Furthermore, some unrepresentative measurements were found from thesubstation meters; hence these must be rectified before further useof the simulation model.
