Vårdnadshavares inflytande och delaktighet i förskolan : Förskollärares syn på möjligheter och utmaningar

Sammanfattning: The aim of the study is to contribute to the knowledge about preschool teachers views of parents influence and participation in preschool education. The study’s questions are how preschool teachers describe and make opportunities for parents influence and participation and what kind of opportunities and challenges they meet in their work. The method used in this study is semi structured interviews with eight preschool teachers. The result of the study showed that the interviewed teachers are trying to work hard with parents to provide a better environment for their children and their development. When it comes to cooperation between parents and teachers, communication and language are focus and the key to build a good relationship between all involved. Preschool teachers’ strategies are also one of the important factors to provide for parents to influence and participate in school activities. The conclusion of this study is that cooperation between parents and school is a very important factor when it comes to give children the best possible experience in preschool. Here communication does matter. Cooperation in practice can come in many different forms and it can also be used on many different levels as Shiers (2001) levels of participation.
