Sammanfattning: Fairlink is a consulting company that works with all major trade fair organizers in Sweden. During the pandemic, Fairlink has been responsible for leading the industry's action in the discussion with the Swedish Public Health Agency. During these talks, an idea has emerged that a product that helps to reduce the spread of infection would show the Swedish Public Health Agency that the industry takes great responsibility for reducing the risk of the spread of infection while keeping an important part of the business community going. This thesis describes the theories and the methods used to find a solution for how such a product could work. Engineering methods were used to solve the problems that have not always been seen as typical “mechanical engineering problems”. The report is focusing on finding out what type of product is best suited to get a picture of the visitor density, what technology should be used for it and what other functions the product can have. The methods used resulted in a final concept, the best suited product to show the visitor density is in an app on your smartphone, using on-site services in each unit, which is also assisted by access points in the exhibition hall that operate in a network of beacons that allow the unit to further specify its position. The other functions that the app is recommended to have are, ticket purchases in the app, exclusive tickets with priority rights, map of the exhibition hall, flag and note and that the exhibitors should be able to get visitors information.
