Användningen av byggnadsinformationsmodeller
Sammanfattning: The construction industry is working to reduce costs and increase the quality of construction. A solution could be to use a building information model (BIM). In theory has BIM been around since the 1980’s and is an approach concerning information management in a project. BIM is a database for a project where all the information is collected to be used in the building’s lifecycle. The purpose of this thesis is to find out the use and knowledge of BIM among architects, designers and building commissioners and their views of BIM in the future. Furthermore, this study will research to what degree the usage of BIM has come in other countries. A questionnaire survey is conducted including 72 firms within the architectural, construction and commissioning sector. The survey was strengthened by conducting personal interviews. The results showed that the use and understanding of BIM is high among architects and designers but low with building commissioners. The survey also revealed that the participants believe that the building process will change to an integrated process with the project in the centre and the use of BIM will be driven by building commissioners and contractors. The study of other countries' usage of BIM showed that countries with large building commission companies have come a long way with its use of BIM.
