Ungdomar och alkohol : en studie av ungdomars dryckesvanor och attityder till alkohol utifrån ett genusperspektiv

Sammanfattning: The main purpose of this study was to compare young girls' and boys' attitudes regarding alcohol, intoxication and their own drinking habits to see if there were any resemblances / differences. The main questions that guided us in our empirical study were: What are young girls' and boys' attitudes regarding alcohol and what drinking habits do they have? What are young girls' and boys' attitudes regarding intoxication? As a continuation of these two main questions we also wanted to, based on the empirical material and literature, search for factors that could influence their attitudes and drinking habits. We made a qualitative study and performed group interviews with girls and boys in their first year of upper secondary school, at four different schools in Helsingborg. We interviewed five groups of girls and five groups of boys, each group consisting of three to six persons. Even if there were differences in attitudes and drinking habits within the sexes, reasoning based on the roles of the sexes were found. If you are a girl it is not as permitted to drink much and act intoxicated as if you are a boy. This point of view was most evident in the interviews with the girls. As for factors that influence attitudes and drinking habits parents, friends and the access to alcohol were the most obvious.
