Sammanfattning: The aim of this study is to examine how professionals in social work, social constructs unaccompanied children who´s seeking asylum in Sweden. By examining how the social work professionals talks about, and describe unaccompanied children seeking asylum the social construction can be exposed. The thesis have been carried out using semi-structured interviews with supervisors at HVB homes and social workers for unaccompanied children. The theories that have been the basis for the analysis is Berger and Luckmann's theory concerning social construction, Lipsky´s theory on client construction and Eliassis theoretical concept Otherness. The essays results show that social work professionals construct unaccompanied children as traumatized and in need to learn what is considered right and wrong in a Swedish context.
