Sammanfattning: Title: Music in motion- An interview study on how Swedish folk music and dance can enrich the method of Eurythmics. In this essay I examine how Swedish folk music and dance can enrich the Eurythmics method. Eurythmics is the starting point for the study and the paper contains a historical overview of Eurythmics, the development from the founder Jaques-Dalcroze to the teaching method of Eurytmics in Sweden today. I also explain the basic principles, methods and contents of the method of Eurythmics to make the comparison with the teaching of Swedish folk music and dance as clear as possible. The Swedish folk music and dance tradition is a cooperation be-tween music and movement and that is why I chose to study Swedish folk music and dance in the perspective of Eurythmics. I have made a qualitative study using interviews and observa-tions. In the quest of how the Swedish folk music and dance can enrich Eurythmics, I asked several questions about repertoire, exercises, target groups, pedagogical principles and holistic approach to music and dance in the interviews. The results of the study are reported by a cate-gorization based on three of the rhythm method's basic principles: improvisation, lead-follow- and metric exercises. The results show that the Swedish folk music and dance can enrich the method of Eurythmics, especially in the exercises in 3/4, lead-follow exercises, repertoire, the holistic view of music and dance and the importance of musicians in teaching music and dance.
