Logistik i byggprojekt – en kartläggning av den operativa rollen logistikansvarig

Detta är en M1-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Teknisk logistik

Sammanfattning: Problem definition: In the Swedish construction projects, there is a role "logistics manager" whose assignment is to manage the logistics at the production site. Exactly how and which logistic related tasks they perform is uncertain. The study’s aim is to find some general patterns and methods that are used by the role holders.
Purpose: The study aims to contribute to the development of construction logistics by showing a picture of the role of logistics manager.
Method: The problem of studying how the logistic are managed at building sites is caused by lack of core descriptions within the construction companies. This means that the way logistics are managed varies in construction projects. Variations between role holders’ positions also affect the work methods of the working role. Hence the study area is not homogeneous the design of the methodology must be adapted accordingly. A quantitative method was chosen and a large population was sought in order to obtain a general picture of work practices.
Conclusions: There are results in study that partly show a pronounced difference, according to the questionnaire, between construction projects with logistics managers and the alternative group. Where the results show an obvious difference is often in less significant areas. An apparent difference is that the respondent’s answers shows that the evaluations of suppliers almost are redoubled in construction projects with logistics managers. This affects future purchasing processes and collaborations with suppliers because of the increased information about supplier’s behaviour in the supply chain. If one instead chooses to view the two group’s total results, then a pattern in small variations can be perceived. Construction sites with a logistic manager claim to have extended their work efforts in areas such as managing logistic problems, and also in logistics planning as a preventive measure. Another tendency, according to the recipients, is that projects with a logistic manager are better at utilising advantages that can be achieved with well worked-out logistical solutions. A general conclusion is that time-consuming tasks with low priority from a producing point of view are claimed to be executed to a greater extent when there is a person focusing on the support process. If the results are considered from a higher plane, there are only marginal improvements due to the works of logistics managers and sometimes none at all.
