Sammanfattning: This thesis deals with the compatibility between analysis software Revit Structure 2012 and Robot Structural Analysis 2012. The purpose is to become more aware of information management models to be compatible across different software applications. The structural model is made to be optimal for the compatibility of other software Aim is also to gain an understanding of the transferring methods that exist, and which method is most convenient to use and to examine whether the methods work in practice. Objective of this project is to make the modeling process time-efficient for constructors. Models do not need to be structured in several occasions in different software; it only needs an optimal model that transfers properly between software. The method used in the thesis consist cases where the transferring process is examined. Structural 3D-models constructed in Revit Structure to be exported to Robot Structural Analysis, where an analytical computational model is formed. The model is revised and transfers into the software for result which information supplied with the model. The investigations resulted that the optimal model is constructed in Revit Structure with the correct placement of the model's analytical lines for integration to Robot Structural where the model becomes calculable. In Revit Structure applies materials and specific information to obtain a complete model that is computable after export to Robot Structural Analysis. Structural information such as profiles and construction component can be adjusted in Robot Structural Analysis for the correct integration to Revit Structure. Information linked to structural objects such as materials and finishes should be applied in Revit Structure as this are more advanced in the software dealing with the compatibility.
