Sammanfattning: Background: Nurses and district nurses encounter many patients with dementia in their profession. It is important to enlighten what nurses and district nurses can do in order for the meeting to be as good as possible for this population and to investigate the findings in research literature on optimal care in meeting with people with dementia. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the nurse / district nurse's experiences of what constitutes good meetings with persons with dementia. The method was a systematic literature review. Literature searches were made in three databases CINAHL, PubMed and PsychINFO. Fifteen papers were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: The six categories that emerged was;. The meeting with dementia affects the nurse; The environment where the care takes place is important; The organization of care affect the care. Knowledge and attitudes affect the care; The nurse strives to provide good care. Relatives, as a resource in nursing care. Conclusion: Registered nurses play an important role in the care of people with dementia. The results obtained provide a guidance on which factors play a role for the care of people with dementia.
