Två statliga idrottsbidrag : statliga bidrags påverkan på den ideella idrottsrörelsen
Sammanfattning: The Swedish sports movement has become more and more wide spread in today’s society with more than 20 000 non-profit sports associations and over 52 million yearly member occasions to participate in sport activities has created a huge public interest. The state’s goal with the sports movements has since the 1970s been to increase the public health which is also why sport associations are granted contributions. 1,1 billion SEK are yearly distributed through local activity contribution and Idrottslyftet. The governmental grants are following the sport movement chain which in this study means from the highest Swedish Sports Confederation to the specialized sport federations and downwards to the sport club level. The main purpose of the study is to investigate what affect the contribution has on sports club level. Previous research has shown that non-profit organizations are heavily depending on contributions from governmental grants. Resource dependency in combination with demands from the contributors has led to organizational changes. This study has used a qualitative research approach in order to receive in-depth answers and seven semi-structured interviews were conducted on three different hierarchical levels in the chain of government grants. The results of the study show that the shape of the grants has consequences in parts of the chain of funding, both positive and negative. One result of the study is that goal displacement occur on different levels due to the shape of the grants. More administrative work has in some cases been demonstrated in parts of the contribution/grants chain along with a development where the association’s structure is getting more and more similar to each other’s.
