Sammanfattning: The purpose of this essay has been to look at the phenomenon murder and other crimes in the name of honor, against young female immigrants. We have chosen to look at it from different perspectives of society, to be able to study different possibilities to why it occurs. Our purpose has been to deepen our understanding of what we have chosen to call murder and other crimes in the name of honor. Further more our intention has been to find out what different parts of the Swedish society can do to help these exposed girls. What kind of help, support and protection is offered to these girls, and what does it say about the Swedish attitudes towards the problematic of honor. The methods we have chosen are a study of literature in combination with a “vinjett “-study. In our “vinjett”- study we have interviewed different kind of professionals who has been in contact with this exposed girls. The informants have been asked to make their responds of three hypothetic situations. To analyze the results we have chosen the theories of Baumann and Elias & Scotson. From our study we have learned that there are various different perspectives to why crimes of honor happens, but a collide between cultures and lack of equality is two perspectives who is often referred to. Further more we have noted that the Swedish laws often are not enough to help these exposed girls.
