Sammanfattning: Due to the historical developments within human society that concern various forms of production, especially food production, sustainability has become an important issue. This Bachelors Essay strives to illuminate the differences between what academic knowledge claims should be done about sustainability, and how small to medium food producers perceive their daily efforts in relation to the three aspects that make up the term sustainability. A number of similarities and discrepancies on how it is or how it should be were found to exist between the two perceptions. These findings are presented as a comprehensive table to primarily illuminate the discrepancies in an effort to further the scientific field by showing where theory and perceived reality do not converge.
