Utveckling som vad? : En diskursanalys av meningen bakom begreppet utveckling inom kontexten för Sidas arbete och deras samverkan med näringslivet.

Sammanfattning: This thesis asks the question of which discourses are dominant for the concept development within Sweden’s international cooperation for development, specifically for Sida and their collaboration with the private sector. In doing so, the purpose is to find a temporary fixation of the different discourses behind the concept. The thesis presents four different discourses that are relevant to the field of development theory. These are: Development as economic growth, Development as Poverty Reduction, Development as Freedom and Development as Rights. In the analysis of the material three discourses have been dominant: Development as Economic Growth, Development as Poverty Reduction and Development as Rights.
