Världskriget som fakta och som känslor : En hermeneutisk studie av skönlitterära verks potential i undervisningen om historiska händelser

Sammanfattning: This essay aims to show how literary fiction can be combined with teaching aids in school while conducting lessons about historic events, or even outright replace teaching aids in this matter. This essay will also show how a teacher can work in an interdisciplinary way in the school subjects Swedish and History. The historic event that has been chosen for this research is the First World War. The method for this study is hermeneutic and it analyzes two literary works of fiction and a teaching aid for History at high school level. This study shows that literary fiction does not have to serve as a complementary source of knowledge when it comes to historic events because it can very well stand on its own two feet. Another conclusion from this study is that the feelings evoked from the text of literary fiction contributes to greater understanding of a historic event.
