Sammanfattning: Bullying is a widespread problem that currently exists in many places and in different age groups. In our paper we intend to focus on bullying in adult life. As many as 340,000 adult persons are subjected to victimization in the form of bullying, which is about 9 % of the working population. Between 100 and 300 cases of all suicides committed in Sweden can be linked to bullying. Bullying is a social problem that should be taken more seriously than it does. The purpose of our study is to determine the extent to which bullying exists in the workplace and how exposed people have been affected. The questions we want answered is: What is bullying and how does it show? At what extent is bullying a problem in the workplace? What will be the psychological consequences for a bullied person? What does the law say about bullying? The answers to our questions did we found out through a survey in which our respondents have answered questions about bullying, and also through literature studies. The results of our study show that bullying occurs in large degree in the workplace and that bullying can affect a person negatively throughout life. We have also concluded that the law surrounding discrimination in the form of bullying is nearly non-existent and should be developed and clarified so that vulnerable people should be able to get legal assistance and redress.
