Sammanfattning: The purpose of the study is to increase the knowledge of teachers' varied views about the assignment in the curriculum on the social gender and the biological gender. Through qualitative semi-structured interviews, different teachers' thoughts were highlighted which, together with a sociocultural perspective, which characterized both the method and the result, made it possible to answer the study's purpose. In the result, it became clear that norm-critical elements of teaching are something that rarely occurs consciously, but when it does occur it is mainly done from a social-gender perspective. LGBTQI issues relating to suxuality and gender identity are at risk of being excluded as teachers' own competence is not perceived to be sufficient to address such issues. The self-interest in the area also influences how the assignment is prioritized by teachers. The students who attend the school also influence the teaching. Schools that are made up of students whose identities are perceived to be within the heteronorm are rarely active in challenging and stimulating students' knowledge of LGBTQI issues. Instead, the need for such knowledge development is perceived to be greater in schools where students identify themselves outside the norm.
