Sammanfattning: This thesis has been developed in cooperation with Boda Borg Skellefteå. Boda Borg is an adventure house where physical challenges are combined with creative thinking. The purpose of this thesis can be divided into to two different parts. The purpose of the first part was to examine how to create a well designed room at Boda Borg. The purpose of the second part was to create an interactive computer game. The game will both advertise the company, and present the concept to people unaware of Boda Borg. The goal of the first part was to create a theoretical model with general gaming concepts, that later could be followed to develop a well designed room. The goal of the second part was to produce a commercial online game. The game would be available for free at Boda Borg’s website. The model for creating rooms was based on a combination of general game designing concepts and the current restrictions at Boda Borg. With help of this theoretical model, a number of rooms were created. Some of the existing rooms were also adapted to better follow the model. After designing and redesigning rooms, a number of those were used to create a complete level. In addition, a general level design was also added. The final result was two unique levels with four rooms each. The next step was to produce an online game based on the rooms and levels above. Director/Shockwave was used as the main development platform. Interactive 3d objects were modelled in 3d Studio Max and exported with shockwave 3d exporter. Backgrounds and non-interactive 3d objects were exported as regular pictures and imported separately. This was to reduce the number of polygons, and thus make the game smaller and faster on the Internet. All interaction was then programmed in Director with its script language Lingo. The final result is a theoretical model that will help designers at Boda Borg to create well designed rooms and levels. The model will hopefully contribute to logical, challenging and fun levels. The online game is an interactive experience that attracts new customers and also explains the concept of Boda Borg. The game is now available at their website. Future work is, among other things, a high score function. A high score function could for example allow customers to win entry tickets or other prizes from Boda Borg.
