Sammanfattning: In today´s society, it is obvious to travel in a convenient and simple way around the world. Unfortunately the development of the compatibility for the railway between nations is behind in the EU. This is a problem that has been observed in Europe and every year, much money is spent to secure cross-border transports. TEN-T EA is an organization that was founded for the EU member states to apply for co-financing for infrastructure projects. Overall a country can get 10 – 30% for the cost of construction and 50% for the cost of planning. In Sweden, the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikveket) is in charge of coordinating the applications to TEN-T. The purpose of this report is to show how Sweden and mainly Trafikveket is working when they seek co-financing from TEN-T. This is to get an insight of how they work and to be able to demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses. It is also a purpose to highlight how much money there really is to seek from TEN-T. To achieve the purpose of the thesis, three issues have been highlighted. • To which projects can you seek co-financing • Whose responsibility is it to seek co-financing • How is the present situation and is there anything to approve The method that is used to answer the questions is a literature study and qualitative interviews. The literature studied, is mainly documents used by Trafikveket the document is provided by the EU. The interviewed persons are persons with key roles in the working process. An analysis of the studies shows that there are some flaws, but that the process of seeking co-financing has improved in recent years. The expectations of the project is to highlight that there is much money to collect from the TEN-T, but it also takes a lot of underlying work to get the co-financing. This study can provide inspiration how the process can be more effective so Sweden can seek even more money to improve the railway. Keywords: TEN-T, the EU, the Swedish Transport Administration, co-financing.
