Sammanfattning: That people in homelessness are beggars and crazy people are preconceptions inherited through generations, and to date, there is still a lot of discrimination towards people living in homelessness. The aim of the study is to investigate people working in non-profitable organisations targeting people in homelessness´s perception of people in homelessness´life situations. The study is based on a qualitative method where data was collected from six semi-structured interviews. with staff working close with people living in homelessness. The analysis of the interviews resulted in six different categories: everyday life, needs, treatment, homeless as a stigma, empowerment and social responsibility. The results show that people who live in homelessness is a heterogenous group and, therefore, have different life situations and needs. People in homelessness face difficult situations with multiple challenges everyday. In addition, the participants describe that discriminations against people living in homelessness is common, which can result in reduced self-esteem for the person living in homelessness. To solve the problem of homelessness is both the individual and the society´s responsibility but the societal responsibility to solve the problem with homelessness need to be more emphasized.
