Sammanfattning: This study is about understanding how contemporary, popular experts in parenting and children's behavior advices insecure parents how to deal with scared anxious children. The studies empiricism is retrieved from books, parenting sites and newspapers. The analysis and results is based on a method where the empiricism is studied from a problems perspective, analyzed in categories that answers questions about character, cause, consequences and so on. This is also a study in how these experts advice treatment in a perspective of modern parenting theory where the family and society are changing. From the Swedish “kärnfamilj” to different kind of families with one or to parents and new partners and so on. Change from a society where the most important task is to produce and develop, to a society where the most important task is to maintain what we have and protect the society from different risks. Most of the experts only relate the problem to the children and their family, and most of them think that Cognitive behavioral therapy in different ways is the solution. If the fear tends to be abnormal the experts proposes child psychiatry but if the fear is normal, the parents get all sorts of advice, such as conversations and listening to the child, carefully approach the fear and facing the fear together.
