Sammanfattning: Risk management is a process that is necessary in projects, yet there are companies that are either performing it or not performing it thoroughly. Studies show that projects, where risk management is involved in the process, succeed better in aspects such as time and budget. Risk management consists of identifying, analysing, doing a risk response and monitoring. There are different types of risk categories, depending on what aspect is interesting to the project. The risks can be identified by using different methods, then analysed by either qualitative or quantitative methods. This survey deals with how three project management and consulting companies work with risk management. The study will include a qualitative interview with each company. The purpose of the survey is to then draw conclusions about what is required for a well functional risk management. The survey shows that you start working with risk management already in the preliminary study. You work a lot with trying to handle the major risks at an early stage, eliminating or minimizing the consequences. It is also important to do a follow up on risks, but this is a process that is barely done.
