Varför självständighet? - En jämförande studie av två separatistpartier

Detta är en L2-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

Sammanfattning: This study wants to examine the hypothesis that regions who have a strong and independent national identity significant differ from the national-state advocate for separatism. With a background of a sense of community as our theoretical framework we intend to make a comparative qualitative text analyses on two nationalist parties from Catalonia in Spain and Flanders in Belgium and their party programme to find if both parties claim national identity as an argument for independency. Our finding will show that even though there is an indication that national identity is an argument for independency for New Flemish Alliance and Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya, our conclusion will be there are different arguments why regions want to break from the national-state whereby national identity is one among others.
