Från fingerfärdig pianospelare till knapphändig knapptryckare : En kvalitativ textanalys av musikinslagen i förskolan och förskollärarutbildningen år 1977–2022
Sammanfattning: Music has the capacity to stimulate children in the development of their skills, such as their social, emotional, and physical abilities. However, music and its involvement in educational contexts for pre-school teachers has shifted. The intrinsic value of music in preschool context has fluctuated and can now be interpreted as trapped between the dimensions of its own value and it being used as a tool. The purpose of the study is thus to clarify shifts and continuities in music implementation within Sweden’s education for preschool teachers between the years 1977–2022. The method used throughout the study is a qualitative text analysis with a basis in curriculum theoretical perspectives and with the concept of selective traditions as a central premise. Three selective traditions are presented as a result in this study, and these serve as a guide to answer the study's questions that deal with the choice of content, working methods and purposes for these during the given period. According to the results, society's view of what counts as valid knowledge during a certain period has been a dominant aspect in changes to the music sections of the preschool teacher's training and moreover the preschool's governing documents. The study's discussion has been brought to the fore based on a historical societal perspective as well as a professional perspective regarding music teaching in Swedish preschool.
