The Road to Corporate Sustainability, Transparency, Prevention and Accountability for Global Human Rights Harms

Sammanfattning: Our globalized world with increasing complex supply and production chains has allowed corporations to transcend national borders to enhance profitability and enables a greater allocation of work force around the world. Although many positive aspects, this has also aggravated transnational corporate human rights violations. This thesis examines international law and three domestic legal arrangements relating to the transparency, prevention and accountability for global corporate human rights harms. It examines how the international community, Germany, the United States and Brazil has resorted concerning this issue, including some critical reflections concerning the practical consequences that the different legal solutions provide.
