Sammanfattning: A waterfront hostel in the park Rålambshovsparken in central Stockholm is designed to target travelers who are tired of crowded tourist spots and seeking for some local places to stay. The design started from reading the site. By observing on site, redrawing the site plan and study on the historical materials, I began to discover and understand some clues left on the site from the past. The new hostel takes use of the fragmentary clues and links them together by a new logic. On the other hand, the tourist in Stockholm has the clear difference of peak season and off-season. The temporary floating dormitories on the water are beneficial to guests’ enjoyment of water during summer, as well as to removability during winter. A small monumental place reminding people of the former artist’s villa, connects the floating dormitories with the more permanent volumes on the top of the topography. As a result, the hostel with scattered volumes gets its own feeling of territory in a public park.
