Sammanfattning: Elderly trust in welfare : A quantitative study on how interaction with home help services and need assessors influences trust in welfare A large number of studies have shown that trust in societal institutions is the foundation of a stable and developing society. Trust is highly important for economic growth and for expanding social services to a population. But what affects trust in institutions? This study aims to answer this question by focusing on how satisfaction with home care services affects trust in the welfare state. The study used cross-sectional survey method. Questionnaires were given out to elderly in senior citizen meeting places and between 3 municipalities, 46 answered. Earlier research has shown that institutional trust is built upon satisfactory interaction with its representatives, which for home help services consists of the care staff and need assessors. The study showed that there is a strong positive correlation between satisfaction with home help services and trust in the welfare state.
