Sammanfattning: Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate what kind of knowledge students, who attended the last semester at the preschool teacher training program in Gothenburg, have regarding the preschools sound environment. We also want to investigate whether subjects sound environment and hearing are a part of the preschool teacher training programs in Sweden, and if so, how do they incorporate this into the education.Method: A quantitative study with descriptive analysis in two parts. Part 1 consists of a survey which includes 38 students who were enrolled in the last term at the preschool teacher training program in Gothenburg. Part 2 includes an inquiry, sent via email, to all preschool teacher training programs in Sweden.Result: The results show that the subject sound environment in preschools is not included in the preschool teacher programs at this point. However, most students at the preschool teacher program in Gothenburg experience that the sound environment during their work-based training is “varied”. Among the surveyed students who participate in Part 1, 92 percent consider that the subject sound environment should be included more in the education.
