Sammanfattning: Today's food production contributes to many different kinds of environmental problems such as greenhouse gas emissions, eutrophication, discharge of toxic substances and deforestation. Because of this, various types of environmental labels have been introduced to assist consumers in choosing products that have a lesser environmental impact than others. Svenskt Sigill and KRAV have developed a climate certification for food called Klimat-märkningen that will help consumers in choosing products that have a lower impact on climate change than others. I did a survey on the matter and it showed that 80 percent of the 100 respondents would be willing to pay more for food with a climate-and environmental-oriented label. 35 percent would be willing to pay 6-10 percent more for food with such a label, and 23 percent of respondents would be willing to pay 1-5 percent more for such food. Meat and animal products are among the foods that have the biggest impact on the environment. The survey showed that 59 percent of respondents were willing to cut down on their consumption of meat and animal products. Women proved to be much more positive about this than men.
