iPad som kommunikationshjälpmedel i särskolan : En intrevjustudie av lärarens erfarenheter
The purpose of this study has been to examine how teachers of students with multiple handicaps view the possibility of using iPad as a communicative and supportive tool within special education. Using the qualitative research interview method the attitude towards iPad among teachers was assed. Four teachers who work within special education and daily use both augmentative and alternative communication and iPad in their education were interviewed. The results were analyzed using the sociocultural perspective and show that augmentative and alternative communication is viewed as an artefact that enables communication between students with impaired verbal communication skills. The teachers view the iPad as a powerful complement to the existing educational tools. Finally this study finds that the increased use of iPad as a communication device within special education has increased the independence as well as social interaction among disabled students and also with students in the comprehensive school.
