Sammanfattning: The aim of the study was to examine the importance of different sources of social support and self efficacy for work demands, concern for changes in the workplace and concern of loss of employment. A further aim was to investigate the meaning of information for self efficacy and job insecurity, and the relationship between social support and self efficacy. Questionnaires were collected from 70 employees at a large company undergoing reorganization. Results showed that support from supervisor was of great importance for the feeling of job insecurity while support from friends/family and colleagues had no such effect. Self efficacy was shown to solely predict concern for changes in the workplace. None of the sources of social support or self efficacy had an influence on the experience of work demands. Information did not correlate with neither self efficacy nor job insecurity. It was demonstrated that the only dimension of social support correlating with self efficacy was the support of colleagues. Nyckelord: self efficacy, socialt stöd, arbetskrav, anställningsotrygghet, organisationsförändring.
