Sammanfattning: The aim of the following thesis was to evaluate the cross-platform technology Flutter based on a user perspective. The key aspects investigated were user-perceived performance such as startup time and application size. Additionally, the user-perception was also a key feature investigated. To evaluate the cross-platform technology Flutter, multiple sample applications were developed. For evaluating the user perception between Flutter and native applications, a user study was conducted using a UEQ. The results suggested that if the performance of the application is vital for the users, a Flutter application is most likely not suitable. The user perception study showed that there were no significant differences between the developed sample applications. No significant differences between the Flutter applications and the native application for either the Android or the iOS platform. Thus, a Flutter application can be a suitable alternative to a native Android application from the user’s perspective.
