Säker eller trygg? En kvalitativ studie av HVB personalens uppfattningar av trygghet

Sammanfattning: The aim of this essay was to examine how residential child care workers working with unaccompanied minors carry out a job which is meant to provide the children with a secure environment. Four participants, working full time and with a minimum of one years experience within residential care homes, was interviewed using semi-structured interviews. Findings reveal that the concept of the children being secure (the ability to accept, create and maintain secure relationships) often is confused with them being safe (not being subjected to harm or threats of harm). Furthermore it is argued that the concept of “policing of families”, a concept derived by Jaques Donzelot, has shifted to that of “policing of teenagers”. This means that certain professionals control and survey teenagers, often those who are of a poor background, to erase unwanted behaviour carried out by the teenager which the teenagers are considered responsible for.
