Digital Nomads- Identity work processes and changes when you choose to become a Digital Nomad

Sammanfattning: Purpose- To investigate the background reasons to why people choose to become a digital nomad and how the identity work process is affected by that choice. Methodology- Since this essay is aimed to create an understanding for the phenomenon digital nomads and the identity work process when an individual chooses to become a digital nomad and understand why this way of living and working is chosen, we are pulling this study through by qualitative interviews and focusing on the individual and identity. Findings- We found that the reason of becoming a digital nomad may be an effect of identity work issues and searching for a group or a lifestyle to identify with. The identity work process is then affected in a way that seems to complete the individual but also due to research it is obvious that choosing a new lifestyle will have the effect of expanding or changing the identity, which digital nomads has in common.
