Karlstads universitets studenters förändrade färdsätt på grund av covid-19 : En studie om studenters ändrade färdmedel och resvanor på grund av covid-19

Sammanfattning: We have chosen to study how the students at Karlstad University have changed their travel patterns in correlation to covid-19. In the study, we have chosen to start from the entrances at Karlstad University to collect a quantitative data collection in the form of a survey, due to the fact that we believe that this method fits us more accurately because this method provides us with more answers than a qualitative interview. In chapter analysis and conclusions will our results of the study be presented and concluded with the help from prior studies and our own reflections. The purpose of this study is to see if people have changed their choice of transportation or habit of travel due to covid-19. With this study we want to facilitate or enlighten how a worldwide event could change and create new movement patterns. With our study we will answer the following two questions: How have students’ travel habits changed to and from Karlstad university due to covid-19? How have students’ choice of transportation changed due to covid-19? The study shows a change in the choice of travel, in a decrease in public transportation where our study shows a bigger decrease. The choice of transportation has changed to alternatives less prone to be crowded like the alternative like the car or walking/bicycling, where the choice is more often based on the most convenient choice for the respondee. Students' choice of transportation varies depending on if you are a woman or a man, women tend to choose walking/cycling and men rather choose their car.
