Sammanfattning: In today's society there is a trend in progress that it is positive and effective to have working groups or teams in organizations. But is it really all good? This essay explores this question through the concept "group weariness". Group weariness is defined as a negative attitude towards working in groups based on previous experiences of the working form. The aim of this study is to explore the concept of group weariness through a quantitative study. The study was conducted on 65 persons in geriatric care and in psychiatry. The main results indicate that group weariness is a reaction by the individual towards the working group and towards the organization. Further individuals who experience group weariness dissociate themselves from groups, if possible, as a kind of self-preservation. Finally there is a difference in attributing style between individuals experiencing group weariness and those who do not. In the future there is a need for further research in the area concerning the effects of a group weariness attitude.
