MIGRATIONSKRISEN I EUROPA - Ett hot mot det svenska samhället?

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Göteborgs universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

Sammanfattning: The large number of migrants who applied for asylum in Sweden in 2015 largely affected the functionality of Swedish society at local, regional and national level. Migration, which was previously perceived as a natural part of Swedish society, came to be perceived as a threat to public order and internal security. In November 2015, the government presented a bill containing proposals for extraordinary measures to curb migration. The purpose of this study, based on the theory of securitization, is to investigate and describe the securitization process of the migration issue and the Swedish government's actions in response to the migration crisis in 2015. The results of the study describes the different stages and components of the securitization process and highlights the various measures taken by the government to curb migration and to reduce the number of asylum seekers. With the support of the theory, it can be stated that the government judged that migration constituted an existential threat to Swedish society and its functions and that the Riksdag accepted the message.
