Jämställdhet som mål och medel : en beskrivande idéanalys av jämställdhetsbegreppets mening i en samtida riksdagspolitisk kontext

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Mänskliga rättigheter

Sammanfattning: This thesis aims to examine the conception of gender equality as it is articulated in Swedish contemporary politics. The analytical framework used to achieve this is a combination between a descriptive idea analysis and a conceptual analysis. Moreover, intersectional theory is used to identify the social matrix in which the concept and conception of gender equality exists. Using these analytical perspectives, the meaning of gender equality turns out to be more complex than what it at first seems to be. Firstly, the concept of gender equality turns out to be dissimilar depending on ideology. Furthermore, the concept and conception of gender equality in Swedish politics becomes characterized by hegemonic feminism. The result is that the conception of gender equality as a Swedish national trait and a common political aim unified with social justice, democracy and equality does not correspond with reality.
