Inslag av islamofobi och antisemitism? : En studie av religioner i svenska historieböcker 1946-2001.

Sammanfattning: This essay sets out to examine how Swedish history books portray the religions islamand judaism and their followers. The sources used for this essay are books previously used in 3upper secondary education during the year of 1946 and various years during the nineties. Theconducted study looks at how the religions and its followers are depicted in the differentbooks in order to see if there are any underlying tones of anti-semitism or islamophobiapresent in the books and if the way the religions are being portrayed changes over time. Theresult shows that there may have been some islamophobia and anti.semitism present in someof the books used and that there has been a change in the way the religions are portrayed.There is also a didactic segment at the end of the essay that discusses the practical applicationof looking at old books that have been used in schools in order to understand how history canbe used to create opinions in the people who read them.
