Sammanfattning: Climate policy and Right-wing populist parties are not often associated with each other. The aim of this thesis is to examine four right wing populist parties in the Nordics and their climate policy through a combination of descriptive statistics and idea analyse of political texts. The theoretical outlook was then based on theories regarding party and issue competition. The parties that was examined were the True Finns, The Danish Peoples Party, The Sweden Democrats and the Norwegian Progress Party. Despite many ideological similarities between the parties, there are vast differences between the parties’ climate policy ranging from rejecting climate policy completely to having very extensive climate policies. For most of the parties, there is a clear focus on market-based climate solutions as well as that other countries should pull the heaviest load with dealing with the climate crisis. There are several possible signs that party competition might be a contributing factor in the shaping of Nordic right-wing populist parties´ climate policy. Further research is although required to assert this fully even if it is probably the case.
