Sammanfattning: This essay aims to investigate how students raised in Jehovah's Witnesses have experienced their career counseling during their middle and high school education. My main objectives are, based on the testimonies of former Jehovah's Witnesses, to investigate how career counselors can find a strategy to approach these students in a non-threatening way. I also try to take into account the contextual elements which are of great importance when counseling students raised as Jehovah's Witnesses. A qualitative study has been carried out with five informants with a background in the movement. The material has then been analyzed using a qualitative, narrative method. The study shows a lack of approach-strategy and tools for treatment of student with a background in Jehovah's Witnesses. Result and analysis shows that the students were in need of someone to talk to about their future and career during their middle- and high school education, and they think that a career counselor could have been that person. On the other hand the informants describe the difficulties a career counselor might have in reaching these students, and they suggest that a certain degree of knowledge about Jehovah´s witnesses, and a counseling method might be necessary in order to successfully help these students. A constructivist approach that takes into account contextual factors is described in this study as a helpful tool for career counselors whom want to reach students with a background in Theoretical terms used in the thesis are constructivist approach-strategy, self-authorship, interpersonal balance stage, institutional balance stage, contextual affordance
