Den tredelade institutionen : En kvalitativ studie om kriminalvårdens behandlingsprogram
Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study has been to look into how Swedish prison and probation services’ program performers experience their work towards the vision “better out”, as well as how they work with behavioral change in prison environment. Through the conceptions of criminal habitus, stigma, destigmatization and total institutions we have analyzed and discussed the empirical gathered material from interviewed program performers. The result of this study has brought up three themes; motivation, prison environment and implements to be leaving “better out”. An individual's motivation is essential to undergo a change but this study also emphasizes the prison environments’ difficulties to pursue changes. According to the program performers this can counteract by the prison being a more supportive environment, which they mean is something to be improved further on. The prison and probation services’ work by RBM (risk, needs and sensitiveness) to identify risk factors in individuals and by KBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) to help individuals with higher risk of relapse to work with their problems. Social relations and authorities are also important parts of this process for a sustainable outcome. The combined result indicates that program performers experience that they contribute to the vision for their clients, to leave “better out”.
